Abstract: In order to solve the selective crushing of middling coal，According to the difference hardness of intergrowth of coal with gangue and combined with the broken characteristics of different mechanical crushing.A new vertical crusher with two-stage crushing ,which coarse crushing section by impact crushing and fine crushing section by shear breaking,has been designed.The new vertical crusher and the SP 60×100 jaw crusher were used to crush fine middling coal,the crushing test and the effect of contrast test show that -0.5mm slime yield，concentrate ash and the total theory yield of clean coal are increasing as the falling of the upper limit of crushing.The new vertical crusher products compared with the jaw crusher products with lower slime yield,lower over grinding rate and higher total theory yield of clean coal at the same the upper limit of crushing.The total theory yield of clean coal can be increased by 4.09% and 3.01% at the upper limit of crushing of 6mm and 3mm,the new type of vertical crusher for coal crushing and selective feasibility and reliability.
